Hull FC Reserves came back from 0-12 down to record their first win of the season against Warrington Reserves at Brantingham Park today.
With Jansin Turgut, Jack Downs and Brad Fash back in the team, along with some star quality from Liam Watts, Richard Horne’s side looked a different proposition.
Having shipped 60 points in their first game of the season away to St. Helens, the young Airlie Birds needed a reaction, and got it in fine style.
The Black & Whites made the worst possible start however, as a hat-trick from Wolves winger Taylor Prell gave the visitors a 12 point lead after 13 minutes.
But the Airlie Birds soon got back in the contest as Jansin Turgut crashed over under the posts after a deft offload from Watts, winger Nick Rawsthorne added the goal.
Two minutes after that the Black & Whites were level as Rawsthorne got on the end of a flowing side-to-side move to score in the corner, he then converted his own try.
Man of the Match Rawsthorne then inflicted further damage as he intercepted a wayward pass as the Wolves pressed, and raced 90 meters, he added the extras to make it a six point lead.
Alex Whalley then brought the visitors back level with a scintillating try, despite appearing to put his foot in touch as he dashed down the line, Grand Final player Declan Patton finally added a conversion to bring the scores level.

The second half was only three minutes old when Jack Sanderson raced away to score, and give the Black & Whites a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Five minutes later Rawsthorne made yet another break down the wing, before selflessly handing on to Cameron Scott for the centre to score, Rawsthorne again added the conversion.
After the early scores in the half a battle of nerve ensued, with the Black & Whites more than holding their own against a strong Warrington side, keeping them scoreless for the entire second half.
