Hull City Hall was the venue for another superb evening of entertainment involving Hull Daily Mail Search for a Star winners classical group Tre Amici.
The group, made up of tenor’s Leroy Vickers, Martin Jackson and Mike Thomas, invited friends like Gemma’s Dance Academy, Craig Harper, Grand Theft Audio, Michael Sharpe, All For One Choir and special surprise guest Rebecca Newman and the evening was compere’d by Lee Kamen.
Jodie Watson also graced the stage among others who made cameo appearances on the evening.
Behind the scenes it was all frantic hard work as sound tests were undertaken first and then the performances started to a sell-out audience while backstage was a hive of activity.
Definite highlights were scattered throughout the all-star line-up with, particularly, memorable performances by Craig Harper, Michael Sharpe, Gemma’s Dance Academy and the All For One Choir.
With a powerful line-up to follow the main attractions took to the stage after the interval as the headline act were ushered on in dramatic style, after an opening set they were joined by the All For One Choir who brought another genuine sparkle to the stage.
People’s Soprano Rebecca Newman was next on to treat us all to a stunning rendition of the title track from her album Dare To Dream which last year made her the first ever unsigned artist to reach number 1 in the classical album chart with a performance which made the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end.
Highlights among these three magnificent acts included performances of Nessun Dorma and then Time To Say Goodbye as this truly wonderful evening was brought to a resounding and genuinely uplifting conclusion which will live long in the memory for all who were lucky enough to be there.
